Chimene Linette Liburd
Dr. Liburd MD, MBA, FACP, CPE, CPC is a physician executive with multifaceted expertise in healthcare management, inpatient and outpatient primary care, chronic condition management, healthcare improvement initiatives, and patient health and wellness. She possesses a proven aptitude for Medicare and Medicaid products.
She most recently held the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Medical Officer, Medicare Advantage for Anthem, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. During her tenure, she led a multidisciplinary clinical team of 750 associates responsible for the utilization and case management for 1.1M members in 20 states with product mix of Group Retiree, Medicare Advantage, and Dual Special Needs members.
Prior to joining Anthem, Dr. Liburd led a team of physicians at Executive Health Resources, who successfully argued medical necessity cases in front of an Administrative Law Judge. Dr. Liburd also maintained a thriving internal medicine practice with two office location for over 8 years.
Dr. Liburd received a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Cornell University. She then obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland, where she later also earned an M.B.A. Her expertise is complimented by certification as a Certified Professional Coder and Certified Physician Executive. She is also Board Certified in Healthcare Quality and Management, Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She holds medical licenses in Maryland and Arizona.
